Introduction #
SmartChart’s design philosophy is based on real-world application scenarios, emphasizing agile development, data-driven approaches, and developer-friendliness. The platform does not pursue no-code; instead, it builds highways between data and graphics, allowing technical personnel to fully unleash their creativity.
Core Concepts #
| Concept | Description |
|---|---|
| Agile Data Platform | Designed based on real scenarios, proven in large enterprises |
| Low-Code, Not No-Code | Developer-friendly, preserving extensibility |
| Minimalist Design | Hides low-frequency features, reduces UI complexity |
| Data Highway | No custom dev language — connects data and graphics |
| Progression-Style Experience | Accumulate charts and templates for rapid reuse |
Design Philosophy #
- It is an agile data platform designed based on real-world scenarios, matured in multiple large enterprises over years. It is not just a visualization low-code platform, but also a data interface low-code and even business system low-code development platform.
- Supports multiple hybrid layouts. For standard reports, responsive layout can satisfy large screens, desktops, tablets, and phones simultaneously. For large screens, drag-and-drop assisted layout can be used with free development mode (Pro Edition).
- It is developer-oriented. If you need to create beautiful and personalized data presentations, you ultimately need to understand some basic html/css/echarts configuration. So we don’t define a custom development language — we help you build data-to-graphics highways, define traffic rules, and provide service areas.
- SmartChart has many hidden features. Beginners may feel confused because we value minimalist design and extensibility. If a feature is only used once, we won’t show it in the UI. We don’t recommend jumping in without reading the docs.
- It focuses on convenient data processing. Linkage/refresh mechanisms are designed seamlessly. You can even use your favorite IDE for development, giving developers full freedom.
- SmartChart is an enterprise-grade solution, not a toy. It’s for those who can settle down and explore slowly. Think of it like cooking — SmartChart provides pre-cut ingredients and recipes. You season to your taste. You can even add new seasonings (CSS/JS references) or swap them out.
- Similar to a progression-style game, you can accumulate charts, templates, etc. during development for rapid reuse in future projects via copy-paste. You can also exchange with other developers to quickly level up.
vs Traditional BI #
- Traditional BI targets non-technical users, focusing on no-code development processes. The final visualization is often poor, customization is low, performance is slow, and use cases are limited.
- SmartChart targets technical users, focusing on the final result. It uses low-code technology, is more developer-friendly, highly customizable, with better visualization and performance.
vs Open-Source Dashboard Designers #
- Dashboard designers only focus on built-in borders and front-end effects, neglecting data development.
- SmartChart is a true full-scenario solution — from data development and visualization to version management, embedding, and engineering.
vs Data Platforms #
- SmartChart is part of a data platform. If you already have one, SmartChart can complement its capabilities.
- If you don’t have a data platform, our data platform seamlessly integrates with SmartChart.
vs AI Agents #
- Common agents are either Python libraries or inflexible all-graphics interfaces.
- SmartChart, based on its powerful data connectivity and visualization capabilities, enables low-code AI Agent applications.
